Ferrell Favorites - Lunch (Tuna & Rice) and Dinner (Beef Tacos)

If you've been following @ryanandrose for a few months, you know Lindsey and Bret have two favorite meals—one for lunch and dinner. The lunch meal is actually a special from one of our very own Cutie Crew members. Can you guess which one?

It's the "Jon Special"—tuna and rice. Don't knock it till you try it. It's quick and easy for a protein-packed, filling lunch in a matter of minutes. Bret dresses it up nice with some sweet rub seasoning, but you can use any seasonings you prefer. 

Here's how to make Tun & Rice (aka the Jon special):

4 Ingredients: 

  • Ahi Yellowfin Tuna (Chicken of the Sea brand)
  • Albacore Tuna (Chicken of the Sea brand)
  • Basmati rice (VeeTee brand)
  • Seasoning of choice (Fat Boy BBQ sweet rub)


  1. Heat the rice in the microwave per the directions (2 minutes for VeeTee)
  2. Drain both the containers of tuna
  3. Combine heated rice with tun in a bowl 
  4. Season liberally with your favorite seasoning 
  5. Mix everything together
  6. Reheat everything for 30 seconds in the microwave
  7. Enjoy!!



Here's how to make delicious tacos (with Lindsey's secret step):



  • 1lb ground beef
  • Taco seasoning (Bret actually uses burger seasoning from Huey's)
  • Flour tortillas
  • Shredded Mexican blend cheese
  • Sour cream (Lindsey prefers Lite)
  • Salsa


  1. Brown the ground beef with plenty of seasoning 
  2. Drain the ground beef
  3. Warm tortillas on medium heat in a skillet to a nice crunch (Lindsey's secret - don't use butter)
  4. Add your meat to the tortillas along with your favorite toppings (cheese, sour cream, salsa, etc.)
